Disclaimer & Product Safety

Last updated September 2026

Please read this Disclaimer carefully. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. It covers safe use of henna, what we mean by "natural" and "organic", the limits of the information on this website, and our liability.

1. Patch Test and Safe Use — Always carry out a patch test at least 48 hours before applying henna or any of our oils, balms or sprays: apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait. Do not use the product if you notice redness, itching, swelling or any other reaction. Keep henna and essential oils away from the eyes and lips, and away from broken or irritated skin, recent tattoos and wounds. Wash your hands after use. If a serious reaction occurs, seek medical advice promptly.

2. Who Should Take Extra Care — If you are pregnant or nursing, have sensitive skin or a known allergy to henna, essential oils or plants, or have G6PD deficiency (a condition in which henna can cause problems), consult a doctor before use. Keep products away from young children; adult supervision is required for any application on a minor.

3. What "Natural", "Organic", "Chemical-Free" and "Halal" Mean Here — Our henna is made from the dried, powdered leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis) mixed with everyday natural ingredients such as sugar, lemon and essential oils, and the full ingredient list is shown on each product page. These words are our own honest description of what goes into the product and how we make it, not a third-party, government or ISO certification, unless a specific certificate is shown on that product's page. "Natural", "herbal" and "plant-based" mean the ingredients are plant- or food-derived. "Chemical-free" is shorthand for made without synthetic dyes, PPD (para-phenylenediamine), ammonia, peroxide or "colour fixers"; it does not mean the product contains no chemical substances at all, since water and natural plant compounds are themselves chemicals. "Organic" means the henna leaf is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers to the best of our supplier's knowledge; it is not certified under a national organic-farming programme. "Halal" means the product contains no alcohol and no animal-derived ingredients; it describes the formulation, not a certification mark, unless a certificate is shown. As an agricultural product, colour, aroma and strength vary between batches, and we are happy to share our ingredient breakdown or supplier declarations for any product on request.

4. We Do Not Sell "Black Henna" — Natural henna stains in shades of orange, brown and deep maroon that darken over 24–48 hours. It is never naturally black. We do not sell, and you should avoid anywhere, any "black henna" or "instant black" product, because a black result usually means an added chemical dye, which can cause severe skin damage and lasting scarring. Our "instant" and "quick" products are formulated to develop faster than a standard cone, but they still need normal application and leave-on time, still darken gradually over 24–48 hours, and never produce a fast jet-black result. If you would like the full ingredient list for any product, including the instant range, contact us. Always carry out a patch test 48 hours before use, and for a product we describe as fully natural and chemical-free, choose our standard organic henna cones.

5. Stain Results Vary — The final colour, and how long a stain lasts, depend on your skin, your body heat, where on the body it is applied, the freshness of the paste, how long you leave it on and your aftercare. A lighter stain, a faster fade or a patchy result caused by early removal or contact with water is a normal variation of a natural product and is not a defect or a basis for a refund.

6. Not Medical or Regulatory Advice — Our products are for external body-art and hair-care use only. Nothing on this website is medical advice, and no statement here has been evaluated by any medical or drug authority. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Hair henna can react unpredictably with chemically coloured, bleached or keratin-treated hair — always do a strand test first.

7. Website and Blog Content — Articles, guides, tutorials, design timelines and tips on this site are general information based on our own experience. They are not professional, medical, dermatological or legal advice, results are not guaranteed, and you rely on them at your own risk. Consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

8. Product Images and Information — Photographs are for illustration; the natural product may look slightly different. We try to keep descriptions, prices and stock accurate, but errors can occur and we may correct them or cancel an affected order as set out in our Terms.

9. Reviews and Testimonials — Customer reviews and testimonials reflect individual experiences and are not a promise that you will get the same result.

10. External Links — Our site and messages may link to third-party sites and apps (for example Instagram, Google or UPI apps). We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies or availability.

11. Limitation of Liability — To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hennaya is not liable for any loss or harm arising from a failure to patch-test, misuse of a product, ignoring these instructions, or reliance on general website content; and our total liability for any product is limited to the amount you paid for it.

12. Contact — Questions about product safety or this Disclaimer can be sent via our Contact page or to our Grievance Officer, Aliya, who acknowledges within 48 hours and aims to resolve within 30 days.
